Keys

Hello

Aren't these keys lovely

I like the one in the middle the best because it is most key like. I've been wanting to have try at beading a key for a while now. I'm going to have a go at altering the pattern Laura McCabe has in the Oct/Nov 2010 issue of Beadwork. Her pattern is for a ring and I'm hoping I can tweak it to make an oval shape.

Crochet granny square 2

I had a try with a fine thread and hook too.

I went for a quick and easy photo on my phone hence the rubbish focus

Crochet

I've finally found a crochet book that makes sense to me and have made my first granny square.

The book is "Crochet Unravelled" by Claire Bojczuk. It explains crochet in a way that I can understand hence my first square.

Black white and grey

I like these beads and will make more. They are made by using the three colours at the same time.

A bead I'm pleased with

I really like this bead. It was an attempt at making a barrel. I saw one of Corina Tettinger's beads which was the most lovely long barrel shape. It was infinitely more impressive than this one but I liked the shape and thought I'd have a try.

Another view of the same bead

Beads for a good friend

These are some beads I've made for a friend of mine who was kind enough to make me a lovely polymer bracelet in my favourite colour, green.

They are black with goldstone

Bead crochet lariat

Here's a photo of a lariat I finished recently. It's beaded in size 11 seed beads with a 1.5mm hook. The 1.25 hook gave too tight a tension which would have meant I'd not have been able to knot it.

It's sort of from the October 2008 edition of Bead and Button. There's a lariat in there (page 88) called "Winter Medley". It goes from White one end to black the other with fringing but not too much. I've liked it since I saw it. I live in the UK though and couldn't manage to match the colours exactly so I settled on a dark to light plain rope. It has six in a round. I like it but not as much as Winter Medley by Virginia Blakelock.
